Fried Oreos!!

I’d always heard of county fairs frying snacks that were already fattening. Snicker bars, Milky Ways, bacon, and the ever famous Twinkie just to name a few. I just recently found out there is now a man frying beer! (Yes the alcoholic beverage) Anyway, last night I was watching the Jacksonville vs San Diego game when my friend casually suggested “Hey do you want some fried Oreos?” I wasn’t sure how to respond. I thought those deep-fried delights were only offered at the fair. But he showed me how to make them at my apartment and now I’m sharing it with you. Surprisingly they taste like beignets.

You’ll need:

  • pancake mix (we used Aunt Jemima Buttermilk)
  • powdered sugar (optional)
  • Oreos
  • cooking oil(we used vegetable)
  1. Start by heating a small pot of oil heated on the stove. You don’t have to place a lot of oil, maybe about a cup and a half.
  2. Next proceed like you are going to make pancakes. You can use a small bowl.
  3. Then cover your Oreo in some powdered sugar, shake off the excess. Place it in your pancake batter. Use a fork to flip the Oreo over to make sure it’s fully coated.
  4. Place the pancake battered Oreo in the hot oil. If the oil starts popping it’s too hot. Turn the Oreo over a few times until it’s golden brown.
  5. After take it out and place on a paper towel to soak up the excess oil.

Enjoy!!!   This would go great with milk.                   Ps: This is good hangover food.

  1. I really enjoyed your site–especially the pictures. I haven’t mastered the art of adding pictures yet, so if you have any tips–I’m all ears!

About the Oreo’s–I can’t imagine a fried Oreo–doesn’t the creme center melt?I’m curious…when you sit down to eat Oreo’s, would you be able to eat more regular Oreo’s or more fried Oreo’s? Does it take more or less fried Oreo’s to satisfy a sugar craving? Thanks for the Oreo enlightenment.

About fried beer? Really? Fried? How does one fry beer? Since beer is liquid and oil is liquid…??? Boggles my mind…

    • I’m glad you liked my site, that means a lot. Because Im a first time blogger it’s hard to know what to write and if people would even want to read it.
This is how you put pictures you your own post. When your writing a new post, at the top you’ll see upload/insert: then a little square with a darker square in the middle. You click this to intert your picture. It’s pretty easy, and quite addicting lol.

Fried Oreos are an interesting concept. The cream doesn’t “melt” per say. If you bite into it the cream won’t run down your chin or anything. Personally, I ate 2 fried Oreo’s and my sugar craving was satisfied. It’s so decadent you can only eat a few, but it’s hard to eat just one. I think they would be great if you were throwing a dinner party. Pile them up on a plate, sprinkle some powdered sugar on them and let everyone help themselves. It would be an great conversation starter too!

Suprisingly I heard about the fried beer in my marketing class. There is a link to the website in my post but the gist of it is they have what looks like ravioli but instead of meat there is beer inside. They fry these and poof! You have fried beer. And yes you have to be 21 to eat them.
